To Whom It May Concern:

Having worked with her and seen the results of her work with others, I most strongly recommend Adrienne Koch for employment.

As a professional educator with 25 years experience, I recognize those qualities which help one succeed both in an academic setting and beyond. Adrienne is loaded with skill and potential. She is exceptionally smart and internationally well educated. More importantly, she is exceptionally perceptive and empathetic. I have watched her work with students as a tutor and mentor. And I have spoken with many students who have worked with her. Those students invariably say that among the various tutors they have tried, Adrienne is the best.

She is perceptive in that she recognizes not only the needs of whatever writing assignment she may have been helping with, but she has an uncanny ability to sense the student’s needs, the person’s needs. This kind of empathy plays well in most any work situation, whether she be working under supervision or she be in a supervisor’s role.

In addition to teaching, I am also a writer with over 1200 publications in periodicals, newspapers, websites and books. I recognize a good writer when I see one. I have studied samples of Adrienne’s writing and say with confidence, she’s good. She has published poetry and prose in a number of venues. The work reveals a highly ethical, thoughtful, insightful, considerate human being.

These qualities too play well in the work force.

As a co-worker at Bellevue Community College’s Reading Lab, she displayed an easygoing nature and a willingness to work hard, independently, at a high level of quality.

As you can see, I think highly of Adrienne. Give her an opportunity, and you will no doubt feel the same. Feel free to contact me for more information.

To Whom it May Concern:

Adrienne Koch was a Teaching Assistant in the BCC Writing Lab from February 2001 to March 2002. She brought with her valuable expertise as an ESL instructor and was popular among the students, who miss her and still inquire about her. Adrienne's engaging manner and sense of humor put students at ease, which is an important quality for any instructor. In addition to her teaching skills, Adrienne is well-traveled and knowledgeable about many cultures, which enhances her ability to work with ESL students and others.

If there were any way we could afford to offer Adrienne a larger contract, we would. I wish Adrienne the best in her endeavors and hope she will continue to fill in for us in the future. Please call me at 425-564-2493 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Vicki L. Culley
